They call is Baby Fever for a reason; because once you catch it you can’t shake it! I was ecstatic to hear last week a good friend of mine is expecting! I’ve always wondered when this day would come and was hoping it was sooner than later so when we found out the news we couldn’t have been more excited for them. I am selfishly looking forward to a baby being within 10 minuets of us that I can hold on a regular basis because I have had the Fever for a while now. Baby Fever (also and more appropriately called Baby Rabies) comes in many ways; holding a little baby, seeing how old your baby is getting, picking up a newborn outfit and remembering those days, ect. It also has a way of never bringing up the not-so-great times; like screaming for hours in the middle of the night, extremely swellings from not having a let down, sweating trying to get them to latch, yellow poop everywhere, ect. Gosh, once is bites you can’t stop thinking about it. Most recently I (and even Davy) have been calculating conception dates with due dates and hoping for 3rd trimesters in winter time and potty training before the baby arrives. It seems like everywhere I turn I’m seeing newborn babies, and cloth diapers (oh yeah, that’s an entirely different entry), and expecting moms, and all the highlights of having a baby. The best part about these rabies is the timing; we are at a place in our life that if *something* *were* to *happen* it wouldn’t be the end of the world. Ideally we are predicting Little Waldman #2 to make an appearance in 2012 but we would be happy with whatever happens. I am hoping that this new baby will cure all the little desires fluttering around inside and cure my Fever!
Speaking of being bit, I am totally, completely, un-ashamed-fully obsessed with The Twilight Saga. All my girlfriends know I was the ring leader of making fun of it when it first came out and they couldn’t get the books out of their faces but after watching the first movie my feelings changed. I became interested in “ok so what happens next?” so I picked up the second book…and couldn’t put it down. I quickly flipped through all the remaining books and become obsessed. We proudly waited three hours for the midnight showing of New Moon last year and this Tuesday night will be no exception. Since last year my obsession has grown and I’ve been all-things-Twilight for weeks now leading up to Eclipse next week. I know the movies are cheesy and poor quality and yeah it’s about vampires and far fetched but something about it just does it for me. I’m so wrapped up in this story line and actors and I can’t back down now. I just want anyone reading this who feels the same way to know they are not alone!

summer lovin' have n' a blast
Summertime is upon us. Moses really enjoys playing in the yard after work but it’s already gotten to-dang-hot to do anything outside that doesn’t involve water. We love our new and improved pool, even mom and dad can splash around, but it’s not practical at 6:30pm. Moses takes after his daddy with pale skin and light hair; he turns pink two minuets into running around. Grammy even went out and bought him sunscreen in fear he was burnt one afternoon at the park. I’m learning to be more relaxed by not forcing him ice water every two minuets and understanding boys like to get dirty and sweaty outside. He now proudly points out anything that’s “hot” like the air, the car after it’s baked outside or the open oven door while I’m cooking. His vocabulary and height are growing and supposedly his belly in “thinning out” (I still see that precious baby chub!). This summer alone he’s grown two new teeth with a grand total of 6; well it was five until I lifted the upper lip last night to see a new one has sprouted next to the left chomper. I guess it time he heads to the doctors again for shots and measurements which I will post if we ever get around to going (this is the laid back attitude I’m acquiring!).

But even at our swiftest speed we couldn't break from the concrete
As mentioned recently I’ve kind of fallen off the music train and desperately needing to get back on. I’ve made sure to pay attention to who’s playing on Pandora and actually looking into what I like. Here is a list I complied for a friend who lives in California because we used to share great music with each other and since I’m not in the CD making business much anymore a list will suffice. Some of this is old, new, common, different, happy, sad….just what I’ve liked lately:
(In no order but every CD SHOULD have an order)
1. Daylight – Matt & Kim
2. Moth’s Wing – Passion Pit
3. Foundations – Kate Nash
4. Boat Behind – Kings of Convenience
5. Roll away your stone – Mumford and Sons
6. Brothers on a hotel bed – Death Cab
7. Seaside – The Kooks
8. To Kingdom Come – Passion Pit
9. Swingset Chain – Loquat
10. Who’d have known – Lily Allen
11. My Time – Minus the Bear
12. Kids – MGMT

People let me tell you 'bout my best friend
Friends. Next to family, which often times I consider friends, comes friends. Without any obligation of blood or marriage they take taking a liking to you and you the same. Sometime you stumble upon them in school or church or somewhere random but they stick. You feel the need to call just to see how they’re doing and hangout with them even if it’s sharing a meal or watching a show. Davy and I have both had the privilege of having great friends. There is the designated “mom” friend who’s great for bossing the group around, the “party” friend who is your go to “lets have a drink or go dancing” phone call, the wise friend full of really smart things to say when you’re in a bind, and then all the ones that fall in between those categories. One thing I love about my friends is that most of them are friends with each other; meaning I could be sitting in a room filled with people who all love each other. One thing I loved about our wedding party was all the girls were (for the most part) friends with each other and same with the grooms side; there was no awkward fitting in or phone calls planning pre wedding events. Some friends have drifted away and I treasure the friendship that was once there knowing it was filled with great memories. As I get older my time is stretched thin and hanging out becomes more scarce; there may even be times I don’t see one friend for weeks. However it’s so nice to meet up like time stood still, confirming our friendship can withstand the waves of inconsistency. Saturday night I was able to meet up with two great friends and do just that; share stories and laugh with no agenda or reason for being together. I am so thankful for all the people I’m able to call friends.
Davy on our wedding day all dressed up with the boys. The first picture represents them behaving and the second picture shows their true personalities!
The top is a lost picture from a wedding shower that I stumbled upon this weekend. A few besties were MIA but I love how everyone looks so beautiful. There bottom right is all the girls dressed up and the bottom left shows just how large the wedding party was! We are so blessed to share all this love!

Vivre la bonne vie!
Bonjour, missed me this week? Me too! My house is growing weeds and school work is stacking sky high. Of course we’re all always busy, but this week the lack of motivation is making everything seem EXTRA hard. Once a midterm passes this Friday a huge sigh of relief will occur and then hopefully we’ll spend time playing in the pool and clean the 34 piles of piles around the house. Last weekend I was feeling super ambitious and wrote a detailed To Do list only to be disappointed by completing 1/3 of it. This weekend I’m hoping to check off a few of the biggies and do some fun things like save all our pictures to a external hard drive, open up Moses’ scrapbook, order prints for my empty frames, get 10 more freckles, and spray Moses with the hose AT least once.
Since I have nothing significant to share I’ll slightly lift the lid to my heart and share its deepest desires; I want to travel. Not just take family camping trips in Georgia or introduce Davy to the west coast, but travel overseas, starting in Europe. I’ve taken four different units of French and would love to be fluent one day. To be more specific I don’t want to just take a two week vacation hitting every “must see” along the way, but dive into the culture and experience everything it has to give. To walk the streets, visit back road cafes, take a drive through the country, and spend 3 hours in a museum because I have no time constraint. I would love to then visit Italy and the Mediterranean coast line and breathe their culture. I think one thing Americans have completely backwards is our leisure. We work so hard five days a week and to make money to spend on things that entertain us; TV, concerts, attractions, things. I would love to have leisure time focused on talking, eating, being with friends and family not needed a tangible object to fulfill our time. I’ve been reading Eat Pray Love and although I do not recommend it (due to the spiritual beliefs of the main character- it’s a little hard to look past) but I love the first third of the book when it talks about her journey through Italy. It’s a faux escape into the world I only dream of.
Alright the lid is closed for today- enjoy the rest of the week!

Our nextdoor neighbor, the beach!
Memorial day this year was spent at the beach; St. George Island to be exact. I can’t believe in less than a week the oil spill has progressed so much and it’s sad to think Florida’s beautiful beaches may not be so beautiful much longer. I am that much more thankful we made it down for a four day weekend to let Moses experience the childhood Davy and I adored. I was awful about pulling my camera out at the right times and the ones I did take were paparazzi style of Moses; then again when you become a parent they are all you care to take pictures of! We stayed with family friends in one of the “pencil” houses which was far enough down to avoid public beach pedestrians but close enough to the playground and Aunt Ebbys ice cream. Thankfully we are still rocking the Swagger Wagon because the car was filled to brim with MUST HAVES for the next four days; plus plenty of toys to keep the baybee happy. Saturday morning we lathered in 50 spf let Moses explore. One of the first things he did was B lined for the water, and didn’t stop! If we weren’t two paces behind him he might have drown because he had no hesitation of jumping into the ocean; even when the salt water was in his face and the waves were rough. He thought the dry sand was decent but much rather be near the water. It was a full time job keeping him out of the surf and it wasn’tuntil the third day when he slowed down to sit and play in the wet sand. Overall it was a great weekend and praying that our beaches are not effected we hope to make many more trips this summer.
Moses with cousin Alex watching cars out the window- getting caught by surprise by the paparazzi - enjoying the morning scenery from the back porch.
We all by now Moses loves dogs, especially dogs on the beach! He spotted these little pups and literally sprinted towards them. You can tell in one picture his arms are swinging and his head is tilted down in full speed towards them. I ran behind him for a good while before I told him the doggies had to go with their mommies and begged for him to come back to the sand.
The best idea EVER for young kids at the beach, bring a blow up pool for the deck! Most of the trip it was in the shade and the kids loved cooling off and splashing/ drinking the water. Chelsea was a family friend who was deemed “his girlfriend” of the weekend. They loved splashing, throwing ball out of the pool for the parents to chase off the deck and eating boiled peanuts!
Davy and I- the boys swinging under the shady part of the bottom deck- the reason we love Florida- the nakey cousins enjoying a snack after a long day playing at the beach and lounging by the pool- our view from the top deck.

Day one, again.
Today Moses woke up a baby and left the house a toddler; it was his first day at his new daycare! I never wanted to mention this in the blog until he was removed but we have been unhappy with our old daycare for a while. I never felt like he was unsafe but I felt guilty keeping him at a place we weren’t comfortable with. I started searching months ago but no spots were available at locations we wanted. A few weeks ago with a phone number confusion my mom got a phone call from a place we liked asking if we wanted to remain on the waiting list. With the misinformation she called to inform me we got in and I was ecstatic only to find out it was just a waiting list conformation. The next week I got a phone call from the same place saying we got in; we signed up six months ago as number #35 on the list and we were now at #3! I was so happy and couldn’t wait to give our two week notice. After enjoying a long weekend at the beach (that post coming soon) I spent last night labeling all his clothes and getting his “supplies” ready. Daycare is nothing new for us but going to an actual establishment with a cafeteria (and weekly menu! Squeal!), outside time, and more 17-month-old friends than he knows what to do with. Here is a few quick picture of my boy all dressed for his first day.
Closed toe shoes are required so he’s sporting a new blue velcro pair with
red socks to match the shirt (total dork!)
He was dying to grab the camera- my goof troop!
I called around noon for an update and she said he’s doing great. A little fussy when I left but has been playing non stop since! My biggest fear and his biggest obstacle will be taking a nap on a mat with 11 other friends around; can’t wait to hear about it tonight!
