Here we are.

This day has been four and a half years in the making; it's consisted of many tears, pumping sessions, guilt, organization, frustration, and joy. When Moses was born there was no discussion because the possibility of making it work was zilch so six weeks post partum I was kissing him goodbye. We'd wake up early and get home late; I learned the art of cramming every errand into a lunch hour and meal planning with my crock pot became a necessity. When talks came of adding another child to our bunch I was adamant there was no way I could leave my baby again not to mention practically working just to pay the daycare fees (hello mortgage payment!). But months turned into years and the situation didn't look like it was ever going to change so we trusted the Lord knew better than us and we became pregnant. As you may recall this past year Davy also started The Worst Job Ever and there were many frustrating conversations along with the making of many spreadsheets and saying things like well we'll just never eat out again only to come to the conclusion this budget probably won't work. But then God made the impossible possible and provided a new incredible job for Davy and for the first time ever there was a glimmer of hope that we could make this work. This great job opportunity only got better and better and better so much so we would giggle and think how is this even possible... we are so blessed. As you may recall from the photo I posted on Instagram weeks ago saying I want to remember this moment forever and that's because it was my first day as a stay at home mom.

Even writing this weeks later it still brings bubbling tears because I'm so incredibly grateful.... I am a stay at home mom.

So that's life as of lately! People told me things like you're going to go stir crazy or it's so frustrating but honestly I'm still riding on cloud nine loving my new job. I'm finding it humorously strange to have all day to do house chores whereas I used to fit everything into two hours at night. On that same note sometimes with two kids it takes all day just to do a couple loads of laundry!

No real routine has been established yet and I am perfectly okay with that because we are just enjoying the summer: I still catch myself riding down the road on a Tuesday afternoon and thinking WOW normally I would be working but I'm not and won't be...this isn't maternity leave...this is life! As Emery has gotten older it has been easier to do a few play dates with friends and I can't wait to do more!

He's here! {ESW}

And just like that, in His most perfect timing, he's here!

Emery Shepherd Waldman
Born at 11:52am Tuesday May 15th
9 lbs 13 oz 21 inches long

A birth story is to come but I wanted to get out a few things about the last 5 days before they start running together.

Overall it's been an incredible experience; after a picture perfect birth we had excellent care throughout our stay at the hospital and the adjustment at home has been kind to me.
Emery surprised us all with his dark hair and complexion! We still can't get over his long fingers and mirror image feet of his Daddy's. His nose is just like Moses' which is just like mine but his head shape and chin are all his own. He had lots of built up mucus the days following birth so there was lots of burping, choking, and congestion but on day 5 we are down to just a little snoring and heavy breathing. On thing to note about his complexion is the almost non existent jaundice this boy has; not 1 but 3 nurses and our pediatrician told us they've never seen someone with such low bilirubin levels!
Moses is handling things really well. We knew taking him to school Tuesday that he would have a baby brother by nightfall and we're able to share that with him before he left which made him very excited. I had a note written from Emery to Moses telling him how excited he was to meet him and that he had a surprise waiting when he got to the hospital so needless to stay after a brief hello to Emery he was looking for the special surprise! After that he warmed up to him, help him, and has given about 85 kisses since then.

I just heard poop from the swing so that's all for now!

PS. We are so head over heels crazy in love.

{bump} 2.0

This is what a baby book looks like in 2013; re posted Instagram photos and a few short blips about how things are going.

Gained 6 pounds in the first 18 weeks…then between 18 and 22 put on another 6. In other words, I enjoyed the holidays. Trying to cut back on my sweets a little to see if that helps…

In other news I have a pregnancy craving; Chick Fil A spicy chicken sandwich and their milkshakes, specially a strawberry milkshake. With Moses I don’t remember ever having cravings that went on for weeks (although as a result of that pregnancy I now eat mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes- weird!) but this my friends is a craving. Tuesday a 2pm? Great time for a treat! Thursday at 10am? Why not! I could eat them pretty much anytime of the day.

It took all your dumb New Year’s Resolutions to help me realize (so crap it’s pretty much a resolution) I need to exercise more. I promised myself this past summer when prepping for this pregnancy that I would stay active; most importantly to have a productive birth but to also help with post baby weight loss. But have I been hitting the gym? No. Have I been taking evening walks with the boys? No because it’s pitch black when I get home! So yadda yadda holidays are over, Moses birthday is over, and I’ve got the next four months to get active again!

I think last time I updated I was crying about getting dressed and while it’s not smiley, happy Clueless style mornings it’s getting better. I’ve sank into a weekend wardrobe and throw on a few dresses or skirts for work. My favorite part of dressing my pregnant body is the ability to wear tight shirts with  no love handles or muffin tops or doughnut holes or whatever you want to call them; just nice smooth lines!

If we’ve talked in the last few weeks and you asked if we had a name yet and I said no; I was lying. We actually tossed around this name the day we found out we were having a boy but not until recently have we confirmed this is it. We both love it. So why haven’t we shared? Because we can’t figure out a middle name! Davy thinks I’m crazy for not picking one yet but nothing has felt right and until it feels right and we love it I don’t need anyone to make me second guess our choice.

A boy Mom.

An outnumbered Mom.
A grateful Mom.
Walking into our ultrasound a couple weeks ago (yikes I’ve been busy) I was just praying to see a pounding heart and a bouncing baby. And I did. The ultrasound was amazing to see all of his fingers and toes and kidneys and brain. He had one hand above his head for a while reassuring us he’s perfectly comfortable just chilling in his little home. And for anyone who doubts 2012 technology, he’s definitely a boy; I have the very distinctive picture to prove it.
We couldn’t wait to tell Moses so we drove right to school to see him. Two of his favorite things are treats and sweets so we knew immediately how to tell him; with a sweet treat!
I sat him on the park bench and explained if you open it and it’s blue that means it will be a brother and pink will be a sister. He could hardly contain his excitement which radiated to all of us. His initial reaction was “these are white pretzels” (so much for pink or blue) but then once he saw the wrapping he understood. He was elated. So so happy for baby brother….and for a treat.

After that we rushed over to my Moms to let them know and snap a picture of Moses before the sun went down. We used the same box and wrapped up a blue Christmas ornament to let them find out the gender. Thanks to 2012 technology (no idea how they survived the 80’s and surprise babies) we Skyped my sister so she could be there and then let me Mom open the box. Funny thing is my Mom already knew soley based on how Davy was acting. She said he was too calm and collected for it to be a girl (in case you didn’t know Davy was freaked out to have a girl and she was very aware of that) so when he didn’t come inside with a shocked plastered look on his face she knew.
My mother in law however was a different story completely. She was making herself sick with anxiety waiting to find out. She has been very outspoken she wants, no needs, a granddaughter. Davy was helping my teasing her in texts that we were at the doctors and knew the answer and she’d have to wait until dinner to find out. Finally at 7:15 she came in looking sick with worry to open her box. Obviously she’s happy with another grandson but within 10 minutes asked does this mean we will try for a 3rd. Ha! Let me be a Mom of two before we even go down Family of Five Lane.
So there you have it, we are having another son.
What’s his name? Don’t even ask!

This is joy.

Being attacked by a toddler while wrapped in my husband’s arms with our second little bundle growing away inside me and feeling so incredibly genuinely happy.

I am so undeserving of this beautiful life I live in and thankful everyday for those that are in it.
So much joy.

160.

One hundred and sixty beats a minute and all was well in the world. Yesterday we had our first baby appointment. I should have taken my own advice weeks ago and got off the dang baby community boards because I was officially having anxiety for days leading up to the appointment; what is the sac was empty? What if there was no heartbeat? What if I can’t trust Gods plan even after telling myself 1,000 times to relax? In all honesty this is the justified reason I’ve come up with; because so much love is riding on this. When we had Moses we were young and scared and had no idea how it would feel loving your child; how your heart could burst open with so much joy. But now we know and we want so desperately to be able to love this little one outside of the womb.

For those who have gone down baby lane know the first appointment is the longest possible one in history just in case you needed an hour and a half more to worry until you get to have the ultrasound.  Fun fact: also my first time “seeing the light” while getting my blood drawn....all the way down to the loud ringing in your ears, inability to open your eyes, slumping down into the chair, and then soaking your clothes with sweat.  Just in case people didn’t know I was there, they did now. But you know what? None of it mattered once we saw the perfect sac, our perfect baby, and that perfect heartbeat.

You made beautiful things out of dust

And in only the most perfect way He knows how to create people out of love.  Our little love bean flickering away in there while we sit plastered with smiles on our faces.

All my delight is in you, Lord.

Surreal, but in a wonderfully incredibly happy way; this is finally happening! I was reading someone else’s blog and they talked about having a Bible verse they clung to during each of their pregnancies; I hadn’t thought much about it again until the day I tested and officially knew. I unofficially knew days before because sore parts of my body screamed something is different!

"Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart"
Psalm 37:4

It hit me like a ton of bricks, like God washed over me with peace and joy; you’ve delighted in Me and here is one of the biggest desires in your life. Bam. Boom. It’s happening.

How I’m feeling: weird. I want to skip hop jump and be myself but I’ve been feeling blah for days now. Lost my drive to exercise and I’m super tired especially at night. Emotionally I’m slightly disconnected but trying desperately to get it together. I don’t want to be hormonal or unavailable emotionally so I’m hoping this is just a wave. Speak of waves, I’ve been getting waves of nausea at night which are not fun in the slightest.

How I’m acting: like I have a big secret and I’m scared to talk to anyone in fear they will guess. So silly, I know, because we’re ecstatic and want to tell people…just not yet.

Because I can’t talk to anyone during the day about this I’ve turned to some baby communities online to check in and chat with other ladies which have turned out to be maybe not the best idea. I feel like communities either have 1. Women who’ve been trying for so long and talk the initial lingo like perfect English (AF, BFP, BFN, BB, ect, ect, WTH?) or 2. Women who have it all together and all planned out and giving baby names at 4 weeks or 3. Sad stories and extreme nervousness. Number three is the worst; I can’t live like that. I have to trust that God has a plan and I have to put my trust in Him daily. If I were to start reading or worrying too much I would make myself sick. This baby is God’s and He has literally gifted to Davy and I to take care of on Earth—so why freak out when he already knows every minute detail of this baby’s life?

Pregnancy Lane.

Among being one of the best places to stalk those from your past Facebook has some other fun features as well like taking strolls through memory lane. I came across a picture of myself pregnant and it caught me off guard; I was 9 months pregnant and radiantly happy. It got me thinking about my 41 week journey and the way it can emotionally, mentally, financially physically change a person. Let’s take a stroll…
My first pregnant picture. Oh….this picture, the bittersweet joy it brings me. Back then I thought I was a little chubby but oh my gosh what I wouldn’t give to have that body again!
This was always a fun situation; pregnant tailgating. I got so many stares and drunken girls touching my belly and asking {inappropriate} questions.
I love this memory; our semi planned out and slightly rushed maternity session. My friend Sarah snapped these at sunset on the only strip of undisturbed scenery we could find in Destin that evening between restaurants and condos.
New Year's eve...officially past my due date but that didn't stop us from going to a party to downtown 2010! The guys were showing off their "catching" skills.
And this, this is the picture. I was 9 months pregnant and having a blast with girlfriends. We were laughing and taking a group photo and I remember feeling great. Looking back my jaw drops at how huge my belly had grown; I was so oblivious back then!

One thing all these pictures have in common; happiness. I had such a happy wonderful pregnancy and these little life snapshots show it. Yes I did have a numb butt in my office chair for months but honestly everything else was a breeze. Ladies, don’t ever be camera shy when you’re pregnant….it’s those little movements in life worth remembering.

What new shoes do to my emotions

This is my baby; you know the 9lbs 1 oz 20 inch long little guy I held in my arms over 27 months ago? The one who had fewer than 5 teeth on his first birthday and didn’t know what it meant to sleep through the night for a very, very long time. Well here he is sitting on the sidewalk at parent drop off this morning; hands on his knees as he gives me a silly smile.

Yep, he’s rockin’ an FSU hoodie like he’s in the freshman class of 2031 already…that’s if he doesn’t drag out his college days win another National Championship for the Seminoles. And those new shoes on his feet…they’re a size eight. Not a 5 or 6 or 7 but a size 8. Holding the shoe in my hand in the shoe department of Target I couldn’t believe his foot would actually fit into a these size 8 boats. There was a tiny matching pair sitting next to him that he quickly explained were “for Baby Lyla” (his newest cousin) and the big ones “were for Mosey”.
We’ve finally broken all middle of the night waking up and have mastered the art of snuggling in the morning. If he’s up too early but not tired enough to fall back asleep on his own he’ll crawl into my side of the bed. My arm still curls around him nicely and he lets me tuck him deep into my chest. Sometimes he’ll fall back asleep but most of the time he’ll lay there quietly and enjoy the last little bit of peace before the alarm goes off. He constructs sentences and knows how to climb into the bathtub. He remembers to pray for every person (and sometimes non living things) he knows nightly and spouts off every store he knows as we drive down the street. He swings a bat like a champ, throws a ball harder and farther than any 2 year old I know, and has even taken up golf. I’ll continue to say it every week of my life I cannot believe how grown up my baby is.

My breast friend

The day I returned to work from maternity leave and every working day for the next 6 months I spent every break and lunch time pumping. After having such success with breastfeeding during maternity leave I knew it was something I wanted to do as long as I could and therefore dedicated all my free time to the cause. Because I worked in a cubical I certainly couldn’t sit at my desk and handle business so the “pump room” was created. I’m thankful a girlfriend from work was 4 weeks behind me in her pregnancy and this pump room was going to be benefiting more than just me.

The room was a small office which housed a desk, computer, and two chairs; we each had keys and came and went as we pleased. Most days we would end up running into each other during some break and sit and chat while our machines went to work. We often joked about the strangeness of our relationship; two women topless sitting feet from each other talking about the nutritional liquid filling up the bottles that sat in front of us.

On occasion we would make phone calls to our insurance company or family member and giggle about the noise of our machines in the background. Some days I would be so tired from being up all night with a newborn that I would put my pump away then turn the lights off then lay on the floor in the corner trying to catch every moment of sleep I could. There were even a few times when co workers had to use our pump room for meetings and swear to us there was milk splattered on the table! We both knew it was from eating lunch hovered over a desk but the look of embarrassment on their faces trying to tell us about it would kill me.

Sitting in my four-walled-door-with-a-lock office now I can’t help to think how much easier it would have been.

The day I one up’ed Daddy.

In our house it is an unspoken rule that we take turns putting Moses to bed. We have no problem splitting the responsibility and Moses shows no preference therefore it has never caused an issue; until last night.
For the past few months I have transitioned from reading four stories and laying him straight down to only reading 2 or 3 and then singing a couple songs. I thought the songs would be a nice way to calm him down and I was getting tired of reading the same books over and over and over again. The night I wanted to sing songs my mind went blank and the only two songs I could remember were “Jesus loves me” and “Jesus loves the little children”. I’ve sang them repeatedly since childhood and they began floating out effortlessly night after night. I didn’t think Moses cared which songs I was singing or if I was even singing until one night I rocked him quietly and he requested “song”. As the weeks go by he has become more verbal with what song he wants me to sing; “Jesus loves me Mommy” he would request after the last book was read. It makes me melt and I happily sing the same two songs every night.
Sunday night Moses woke up in the middle of the night crying out for me; I was tired and asked Davy to check on him. As Davy walked into the room I heard Moses say “No Daddy, Mommy”. He tried to hold him and his cry got louder. Was he actually refusing his Daddy? Finally I went into the room and he reached out for me to hold him. He buried his head into my chest and said “Jesus loves me”. :::heart swoon:::. Right then and there, with my 5-in-the-morning-glory voice, I sang to him. It made me feel incredible. Davy has always been his buddy, his pal, his sidekick but in this moment it solidified I was his Mommy. His gentle, caring, sweet mommy. He thinks of me in the way I have always wanted him to think of me as; his Mother.
Last night I was at the grocery store when I received a phone call from Davy, “Well, I’m officially insufficient” he blurted out. He proceeded to tell me after reading stories to Moses he started requesting Daddy to sing songs. Not just any songs, but Jesus loves me. Davy struggled through his vague memory of the lyrics but Moses was not satisfied. He lay in his bed and cried for his Mommy; finally drifting off after Davy promised when Mommy got home she would come into your room and sing you “Jesus loves me”.

Umpa Lumpa.

Remember me saying I need to loose weight before I start growing another baby? Ok maybe I didn’t say it out loud because saying it out load forces me to admit I’m overweight and rather eat ice cream and watch Gossip Girl after work then eat veggies and sweat. Regardless, the pounds need to come off. According to “plan” (or as much planning you can do for a natural cause) we are thinking in terms of months not years anymore and looking down at my giggly belly that’s a scary thought! If I don’t loose weight before getting pregnant I’m afraid I will blow up like Violet from Willy Wonka or worse, never have a normal body again. I’ve already adjusted to buying bigger clothes and understanding why moms need “mom jeans” but I’m not ready to convert to solely buying T shirts and wearing the unflattering jean capri to hide everything that was once glorified as curves.
I’m proud to say we’ve cut our grocery bill in half these past few weeks and will never turn my back on couponing again. We buy what’s on sale, I make a weekly menu, we keep that extra money of our bellies and everyone’s happy. However trying to incorporate loosing weight and eating healthy is a scary thought because what if those items aren’t on sale? Or I don’t have a coupon? Creating tasty meals based off of what I bought at a discount sometimes contains mac n cheese or lots of carby-goodness. They don’t make coupons for fresh produce for cryin’ out loud! I need to find a way to come up with healthy meals every night while staying on a budget. To make the most out of the pricey produce and lean meat while still tasting good and not making me go on a sweets binge after eating the same meal every single night.

If you have recipes or suggestions I’m taking anything you’ve got!

It's only teenage wasteland

My favorite part of this long holiday weekend was Monday morning. I rolled over to daylight hitting my face and checked the clock, 8:15am. I listened out for a chatting baby but heard nothing so I dosed back to sleep. 9am rolled around and I couldn’t stop tossing and turning; I laid with my eyes open in disbelief the house was still silent. With To-Do list scrolling through my brain of every corner I was going to clean I had to get up and get started. Davy woke up from all my moving around and he decided to get up with me, both still is disbelief Moses wasn’t awake. I begged Davy to go check his breathing status (because all moms instantly feel their baby is lying dead in their cribs if they oversleep, right?) and sure enough he was sound asleep, still breathing. I headed for the playroom to fold the Mt. Everest clothes pile and Davy got the mower going before the sun got too hot. And then I folded, and waited, and folded, and waited. 10am comes and goes, 10:30 comes and goes, and finally at 10:40am I heard chattering. For a baby who normally sleeps 8pm-7am I was stunned that my baby had morphed into a teenager overnight. I open his bedroom door and there he is, standing up leaning over the railing smiling at me. The diaper wasn’t overflowing, the passies weren’t thrown all over the room, just my miniature teenager finally deciding to wake his sleepy head up. This morning also marked a special day in Moses’ year, it was his half birthday! Officially closer to a two year old than a one year old; I thought it couldn’t have been more appropriate that an 18 month old decided to act like an 18 year old.
This sums up my teenager: sitting on the dining room chairs like he owns the room, playing on his laptop (which only makes noise but he swears if he moves the mouse something special is happening) and that stare. Oh that share is saying "Mom, please stop taking my picture, I'M BUSY". But the passey helps me float back down to reality, thank the lord!
I'll hopefully update this post later in the week if I can sift through the 50 family pictures we took and see if any of them turned out! In the meantime, enjoy lots of coffee, 50 e-mails, and work up to your eyeballs today!

Update: a FEW pictures from Memorial Day- I know, waaay late!
O hey babe! Yeah, I know, I'm sweating from the heat too!
This is what happens when babies grow into kids and they no long fall for the peak a boo camera trips they once fell for. "Aunt Caroline....we're OVER this!"

We thought we created a pretty festive flag :)

And MY friends think I'm a nut...*cough*

Fluffy Bunzy Fluffy Bunzy

W Baby #2 is already has an opinion and whispering tiny suggestions in my ear; the first one being cloth diapering. If you’re not a mom or like saving money and the environment go ahead and stop reading right now- you’re going to hate this post! I am constantly on the internet reading blogs and product reviews and this one specific topic keeps getting throw in my face; cloth diapering. At first I thought “hippy/ weird/ stupid/ poo everywhere no thanks” but then I actually started to read the post and articles and even visited a few diaper sites.I was so surprised to see how far they’re come from a white napkin with huge safety pins to ultra absorbent (cute) diapers that you can reuse! At first I was lost in the world of brands and style and material and absorbency but found some great web sites that broke it down for us Pamper lovin’ moms. Cotton Babies creates a few of these new awesome diapers including Bum Genius which is my new personal favorite. Shoot they even have all-in-one one-size-fits-all styles that are perfect for Grandma or daycare. After finding some I like (well think that I and W Baby #2 could potentially like) I started browsing prices; holy moly was my first reaction. Did you say twenty five dollars for ONE diaper? Wait a minuet; doesn’t a newborn need their diaper changed like, ten times a day? And won’t they need five different sizes as they get older like I’m used to? Most people probably have the same reaction that’s why I was able to find many charts that crunched the numbers for you. Thankfully most brands sell the diapers in discounted bulks and surprisingly most sites say if you are using the one-size-fits-all style you’ll need anywhere from 15-24 diapers for their diaper wearin’ lives! So with the bulk discount 24 diapers sits somewhere around $500, plus some extras (like stink proof on the go bags and extra liners for nighttime) were looking at close to $600. Here comes the reaction again, holy cow that’s a lot of moo-la. Then I looked at the disposable diaper column on the chart (they were smart enough to place cloth and disposable prices side by side so idiots like me could get the picture quicker) and those bad boys rack up to $20-$30 a pack. I tried to do an estimate in my head but I’m guessing we’ve already spent close to $1000 throwing away diapers within the last 18 months and project he’ll be in diapers for another six months at least! That’s at least $1500! Not only is it going to be saving us $1000 it will help reduce the amount of garage that sits in our local landfills. I have not completely sold the idea to Davy or myself but it really gave me something to think about; and plus we have a looong time to figure it out!

Mar 31, 2009

eleven.

I’ve been reading a bunch of people’s blogs lately and decided I would love to stay on top of my journaling just to see the progression of Moses and life instead of trying to recall all those little precious moments.
The biggest milestone this month was on the same day: Moses rolled from his stomach to back AND slept in his crib for the first time. He rolled over at Grandma’s house when I was at work ( of course I miss the first first milestone!) and then later when I got home Davy showed me if he lays down and cries long enough he will push himself over! He only did it a few times when we was angry and then a week or so later he was just cooing in the monitor so I went into his room and he had quietly flipped himself over! Jumping back to that big milestone day, I decided to put him in his crib that night because of the event that look place the night before in his bassinette. In the middle of the night he started crying (normally would only wiggle in the night) so I learned my arm over to hold his hand and all the sudden I felt his head in a weird position. He was still crying hard so I looked over and saw his body turned completely horizontal in the bassinette and his face smashed up against the side of the wall cocked in a way I knew he was in pain. I tried to push his body but he had wiggled himself so far horizontally that he was literally stuck! So I jumped up and pulled him out of the bed and just cuddled him. I felt so bad for him because I knew he was getting too big for the bassinette but just had been lazy about putting him in the bed because I didn’t want to have to get up 10 times in the middle of the night to make sure he was okay. So that night was his first night in the crib away from us. I rolled blankets up next to him and cuddled him up tight. Its been so many weeks I can’t really remember, but I know I only had to go in his room a few times to pat him. He’s now been in the bed for weeks and we go in there 2 or 3 times a night to put his covers back on him and “shhsh” him.
He is getting so big and has progressed so much its crazy to think he was only born 3 months ago. This weekend he rolled over stomach to back for the first time while Davy was trying to change his diaper on the bed. He’s also started to sit up in the “Bumbo” seat for 5/10 min. at a time and LOVES watching the TV. Nothing in particular on TV, but just the constant movements on the screen fascinates him. He also still loves to look in the mirror. In the dressing room at Target last week he was making himself smile and coo by looking at the reflection of himself smiling in the mirror! I got a picture of it- I’ll try to upload it in the blog.
When he was younger he used to just sit and stare at the big mirror above our couch that has a dark frame around it. we thought he liked the contrast of a white wall and dark frame so when he would fuss we would hold him where he could see the mirror and say “look at your frame” and he was just calm down and star!
I know this blog is jumping all over the place, it’s just I haven’t wrote all these little memories down in so long when they come to mind I want to type them out as quick as I can!

A NEW START. ten.

I wrote this when Moses was 7 weeks old. I have a few more blogs on my home computer that I will post so the last 3 months come together and somewhat flow.
Moses has started sleeping more and more during the night the past few weeks. I
never have to wake up and do a middle of the night feeding. He was going to bed
around 2 and then sleeping until 7/8 or so, but now we have slowly moved him
back until closed to 12:30/1. My first work of week was last week and by the
time Friday night came around I really wanted to sleep in Saturday. So I guess
Moses knew I needed some sleep because he slept from 12:30 to 9:30. he will
start waking up but if we put his passey in his mouth he will fall back asleep
for ten min and then wiggle around so we repeat the process. Sometimes he will
just do that for about an hour before he is actually ready to get up. Its
wonderful knowing once he goes down he’s down for the night. i can’t believe he
will be “2 months” old next Thursday! I can no longer say he’s __ old in weeks,
but now he’s months old! He’s getting so big right before my eyes.
His new
thing this week is liking us hold his hand when he goes to bed or fussy. I’ll
lay him down and grab his hand and push it up nice and close to his body. Maybe
he feels like he’s secure and not alone when we do it, but it brings him instant
comfort and I love it!

This is why I would never call myself a “blogger”, I can’t even stay consistent with blogging once a month! It’s been way too long since I updated last and I hate myself for it because there are so many little details I wish I would have wrote down while still fresh in my mind.
Biggest thing going on, 5 more day’s until Moses’ due date! Five days, less than a week, ah! We went to the doctors yesterday and I have had the same progression for three weeks in a row now. 1 cm dilated, 70% effaced, and he’s sitting around -1 pelvis station. So he’s placed himself in a nice little spot, and 70% is a good number, but for three weeks in a row now…. Come on Moses’, give us a little progression forward! I want him to come when he’s ready, and I’m not going to have them induce labor (unless medically necessary), but it just seems so discouraging that he hasn’t budged in weeks! Most people say 1st babies come later than earlier, plus I’m content with him not coming on Christmas (TOMORROW), so I guess he can just hang in there until he’s ready. When mom was pregnant with Danyell she went to the doctors and they told her o you have a while don’t worry and then that weekend sitting on the toilet her water broke and Danyell was born three weeks early- so you really never know when they’re coming!
Tomorrow or two weeks away, he’s coming regardless and I’m so excited, and extremely nervous at the same time. Because I love to have a plan and control over most situations it makes me extremely anxious knowing I will have no idea what his birthday will consist of and have no way to put it on pause or go back and do it different. I feel a little better now that most of the stuff being packed in the hospital bags is sitting on the floor in piles ready to be put in the bag, and we have a birth plan and phone list typed up ready to go. His nursery is all set up (I love it and need to learn how to post pictures on here!) and the car seat is in my car (although Davy and I are convinced we did it wrongL).
I don’t know if the emotional side has really overwhelmed me yet because it hasn’t really registered, I’m going to be a mother to someone for the rest of their life. Davy and I will be parents and take care of someone else’s life every single day. It’s a responsibility that’s completely foreign to me and I think will stay that way until the day he’s born. Someone will call my mommy and I will be someone’s hero at one point in their life. It’s a roll that you can read up and practice only so much until its reality and I’m holding him in my arms. My friend Sarah Gray keeps telling me that moment when they put them on your stomach after their born is something she will never forget and advises me to feel take in that moment and treasure it.
I could go on forever but will wait until after Christmas to update again. I promise to keep more frequent with my thoughts and details.
Who knows….the next time I sign on Moses could be here!

I looked at the baby counter and 46 days left seems to have come so quick. Maybe because so much has changed since I last blogged that I feel like it’s all coming to an end (and well beginning at the same time) so soon!
First, we signed the lease and started moving into our new place! I love it and wish I could start living there now, just half the house is still in boxes and the bed is currently an air mattress. My nesting is now stronger than ever so even if I just go over for a little bit each day and unload a box or clean up an area it makes me feel good. Thankfully, we already have most of the big furniture or the stuff we don’t have people have given us. The only big thing we’re missing right now is a TV stand for our new massive TV and a dresser for Moses’ room. I can’t wait to walk in the house with it all set up and decorated and it finally feel like home.
Second, we got engaged! It happened on Wednesday the 29th, I’ve just been too busy to blog the details. Lets just say I was completely surprised and Davy did an amazing job planning it all out. He had me in tears, and laughing, and overwhelmed with happiness.
Third, and currently happening in less than three hours is, my work baby shower! Today is going by so slow anticipating the excitement of this afternoon. It still baffles me how people I work with would put effort and money into someone they barely know! Everyone is walking around so bubbly today just as excited for me to open all the gifts, and see the cake and decorations as I am! I can’t wait to blog about how great the shower was, but I already know it’s going to exceed my expectations!
Just an update on the birthing class, it’s amazing and also exceeding my expectations. The class is just for informative and Vikki is teaching us things I never even knew about during delivery and has just completely calmed our nerves about the big day. Davy also loves the class and that has made it a total bonding experience; I know that on the big day he is going to be the best coach! I feel so relaxed and call me crazy, but have even considered not getting an epidural!

62 days left seems like an eternity…..
I have nothing but good news to share. The biggest thing is we found a place to live! Well, hopefully. It’s this great 2/1 in Killearn that has a big carport and screened in back porch. It’s higher than we would have liked to pay, but still within out budget. The reason I say hopefully is because it’s not ours yet, we have to submit our application today and hope it gets approved! We really want the place, and the renters would love for us to move there, it’s just a matter of our application going through. Keep your fingers crossed and pray that it’s ours by the first of the month!
Another exciting thing is I started a completely new project at work. I won’t bore with all the details, but it’s a much needed change of pace and work the past two days has actually been enjoyable!
Finally, we started our birthing class last night (or as Davy likes to call it, our “breathing” class)! I was a bit nervous/ anxious driving to the class because I didn’t know what to expect. What the teacher would be like, what the other people in the class would be like, and just overall if it would freak me out even more about d-day (or b-day). Thankfully, it was better than I expected. There is only four other couples in the class with us and most of them seem pretty normal and have the same kind of fears I do about labor. The teach is my good friend Lauren’s mother who I’ve already heard is a good teacher, but never knew how knowledgeable she was! The first class we just introduced ourselves and talked about discomforts of pregnancy and ways to prevent/help them. The class is 2 ½ hours long each week, which seemed like a long time to learn about birthing, but in actuality there is so much she wants to tell us, she had to cut herself off. And another I thought was funny is we have snack time halfway through class- I feel that’s only appropriate with a room full of pregnant women! I hope we get a lot out of the class and when the actual day comes we can practice some of the moves and not just lay there and freak out!

The day has come. Stretch marks have arrived! Since my mom and sister didn’t have them barely at all, and I’ve been applying the stretch mark lotion for months now, I figured I would get lucky, but no! So far, four little ½-1 inch stretches have appeared on the low part of my belly. Davy actually had to point them out because my belly sticks out so far I couldn’t even see them until I looked in the mirror! I’m not too worried about them because they are so tiny, but we still have 9+ weeks to go, and in that time fifty more could appear! I’m (as well as Davy) excited about post baby getting into shape and my ultimate goal is to weigh/ feel better than I did before I got pregnant! Hopefully the recovery will be easy and I’ll be motivated enough (with four hours of sleep a night) to get into shape fast!
It’s Friday and I couldn’t be happier! Work has become so routine and slow lately, the days drag on making everything move in slow motion! I know I can’t stay up until 2 am anymore, but at least I can stay up as late as my body will allow knowing I can sleep in the morning! This weekend we are supposed to be viewing a few move places and I'm really excited to see if any of them work out, or could be put on the list of serious potentials..... I'm so ready to move!
