McFatty Monday

After spending the weekend eating great seafood, and snackfood, and lotsoffood it’s time to get serious again. We are in the middle of planning how to cut our grocery bill in half as well as eating great at every meal. I want to have sensible, healthy meals all the time on a super tight budget- just seems impossible writing it! I want to eat vegetables all the time and call a piece of fruit “dessert”. I have been doing some research and getting creative but it’s the actual execution I’m scared/excited/nervous about. This isn’t a one week diet, it’s a lifestyle change; to purge the excess and stick with the healthy.

One part of my lifestyle that’s has been changing is exercising. As mentioned already I started an aerobics class and it’s going great! If you live in the area I recommend getting involved with some type of cardio class that YOU PAY for so it keeps you motivated to attend every week. This particular class is at a college gym that’s offered two nights a week and works with everything from weights and pushups to steps and bikes to sweat blasting moves. I am loving the forced time frame after work to be able to work out and always feel good about myself when I’m driving home with sweat running down my chest and legs shaking from exhaustion. As much as I love this class it’s only two days a week and I need more. For Davy’s birthday I bought him P90X to replace his gym membership that just ended. He is so excited to start the program next week and (with much hesitation I say this) I’m going to join him. I’m scared out of my yoga pants to commit to such an intense program but it will be a great bonding experience for us and hopefully help me shed a few. Like I said I believe we are starting next week and I’m thinking about taking “before” pictures which could maybe, possibly end up on the blog IF I’m getting the results I want to post “after” pictures. Is it sad that I’m already thinking of everything sweet I can eat before next week when sweets become banished from the house?
